BJames

Meet Brendan James. He's coming to my area this weekend, and I cannot WAIT to see him. And tell him I can solve a Rubik's Cube faster than he can :) (search his song "Stupid for your Love")

He is a down-to-earth, down-right supercool at the keyboard. voice that makes your heart stand still. i don't know how he does it, but I can say it's a God-given talent.

Favorite Song: "The Lucky Ones." It just gets your heart pumping. Cool bass or kick drum..I don't know exactly, but it's awesome.

Visit him at www.brendanjames.com. He'll be glad you stopped by.

See you on Sunday Brendan! (Yes, we ARE on first name basis)

A Blast from the Past

Hello friendly friends.

I'm crushing. But, the crush that I'm having is kind of embarrassing- the guys are not quite my age...or even close. I thought I'd share with you hotties from the 1950's.

Let's start out with a modern cutie. You think James Franco is a looker?

Well then meet the original James Dean.

See any resemblance?

Next, meet Paul Newman. Yes, he is that face on your salad dressing. But, check him out in his heyday.

Man, I wish we had some fine looking gentleman like these in our decade.

A Little Valentines Humor.

Yes, I KNOW V-day is long gone and won't be back until another 364 days. I'm okay with that. But, here's a humorous Valentine from Thomas Jefferson to Karl Marx that I had to write for a class and thought I'd share with the you guys. Enjoy.

Thomas Jefferson's Valentines to Karl Marx:
Roses are red; Violets are blue.
Karl Marx, you make me want to spew.
I am the author of the Declaration
You seem to want to have only one nation.
I, for one, have come to know,
That tyranny of one government will not be our Manifesto.
I split from the King of Britain to prove
Freedom for a country is my best move.
Valentines may be a day, in which we say,
“I love you, and I’ll cherish you always.”
However, in your case, can’t you see?
America is well and thriving; we are free.
In America, Valentines encourages blissfulness,
All we desire is “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
Marx response:
This thing you call Valentines, I do not understand.
Jefferson, you are so fortunate to have a new land.
This land is yet without class distinction.
You have the opportunity take Communism into action.
I say abolish private property and abolish family.
If you heed my words, do so swiftly.
This is the proposal in which I delight:
“Working men of all countries, unite!”
America, be my Valentine.

Super Bowl XLV

So, Super Bowl XLV...

I'm not much of a Steelers or Green Bay fan, but yesterday I had to say go Packers! The Steelers made it a game late in the fourth quarter, but couldn't pull it out. Thankfully!

But, there are more pressing matters than the championship itself. There were some awesome commercials (to be expected, but rather overpriced) and great post-game interviews.

Best: Little Max has been "unmasked". Volkswagen put out a commercial with a young Darth Vader acting his "force" in it. It was a cute commercial, but now this little guy has been on The Today Show, Access Hollywood Live, among others. He is precious. Very, very cute. But, that's some major fame. Plus, there was another VW commercial introducing the new Beetle- coming this Fall.
What was your favorite Super Bowl XLV commercial?

Worst: HomeAway commercial. hm...no comment, really.

Lastly, Greg Jennings is #85 for the Packers and is a wide receiver. His post-game interview was too funny, and pretty incredible. No, he did NOT say, "I'm going to Disney World." Start watching at 5:20. It's the only one I could find.

Maybe the Chiefs will get 'em next year,

ROSWELL

Best TV Show ever!!

Everyone has had their supposedly "bad kid" tv show that you know you aren't supposed to watch but yet in your childish rebel days you still did...well, Roswell would most definitely be that show for me. Grant it I was like 11 or 12 when I saw it for the first time on SciFi but I still loved it!!

Ok, so here is a quick plot overview for you: Max Evans is an alien from another planet who landed here on earth and is now a teenage boy. He has a sister, Isabell, and a best friend, Michael, who are...what do you know...aliens as well. But anyways Max saves a girl named, Liz, one day after she was shot. He healed the wound and of course she had a few reasonable questions...and he told her he was an alien and there was a connection(I'm going go with meant to be from the moment they knew each other LOVE). And the rest is history!! well actually the rest is only in three seasons, but the greatest three seasons of your life!!

Here is a trailer from the beginning of the show when it first aired on the WB...

Here are the main characters of the show...
  • Liz Parker-Shiri Appleby
  • Max Evans-Jason Behr
  • Isabell Evans-Katherine Heigl
  • Maria Deluca-Majandra Delfino
  • Michael Guerin-Brendan Fehr

Hope you like it :)

Dance PARTY.

I had a dance party. By myself.

I had a paper to write for a class- a paper on the Declaration of Independence and MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech. You could imagine my writer's block as I arrived on the fourth page. So, for inspiration, I jammed up iTunes on my computer, and danced. Danced. Danced. Then, finished my paper.

But who cares about the paper! Here's a look at the artists that filled my room at 11 o'clock at night.

Parachute "Under Control"
Michael Buble "Feeling Good"
Carly Simon "You're So Vain"
Needtobreathe "What You've Done to Me"

Parachute is a band I recently discovered, and they may have taken the lead of all time favorite bands. You may not have heard of them- but LOOK them up! They have a new song on their website called "Something to Believe". amazing. www.weareparachute.com. Here's a little eye-candy for you.
Parachute

Michael Buble- all you need to do is listen to his voice. Immediately, you will melt. Or at least I did. Plus, he's Canadian.

Carly Simon: nothing is better than a little bit of conceited boy-bashing.

Needtobreathe...I actually had the opportunity to go to their concert. incredible. They are geat performers and entertainers. They also have a passion about life and their beliefs, which is hard to find in the music industry. They are a "breathe" of fresh air :) Check them out.

Go have fun. Have a dance party!

wedding bliss

My brother just recently got married this weekend. While it was a lot of work and it completely wore me out, it was fun and beautiful!! While getting ready for the BIG day we found out some crazy traditions and random things that are done for weddings...here are a few of them.

1. It is not required of the bride to take the groom's last name. All though it is traditional and over 70% do take on the new name.

2. the wedding ring came first from the cave men...weird

3. Egyptians came up with the engagement ring. It was a symbol of eternity because of the never ending circle.

4. "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a silver sixpence in your shoe" in which each item has its own meaning...something passed down it the old, the wedding ring itseld could serve as the new, something from another's wedding day is the borrowed, the blue actually goes all the way back to Bible times and symbolizes purity, and lastly six pence was happiness with the wealth that you have.
( I did not know most of those..oops, I'm behind)

The best wedding party lead out ever!!!

Welcome to the Blue Lagoon

The Blue Lagoon in Iceland is a geothermal spa. Enough said? Well, there is more that will send you daydreaming about one amazing bathe. The warm waters are rich in minerals like silica and sulphur and bathing in the Blue Lagoon is highly popular. The water temperature in the bathing and swimming area of the lagoon averages 98–102 °F. Every 48 hours, the water is naturally renewed. The steamy waters are a part of a lava formation. Not sure about the safety of this natural, therapeutic spa, but I think it's worth the risk! Check out this video. And below are a few pictures to send you to spa-wonderland.

Wishing I was there,

The Incredible Mr. Limpet: "I wish, I wish I were a fish!!"

We just decided to up and watch a very old movie and this was what we came up with, The Incredible Mr. Limpet! What on earth were we thinking is a very good question...the movie came out in 1964 and is basically about a man who wished to be a fish and got just that...he became a fish and single "fin"edly saved the USA from the Nazi invasion.

Starring: Barney Fife from Andy Griffith...Jk his real name is Don Knotts.
Lady Fish Friend: Elizabeth Macrae

To some up our opinion of it...Yes it was interesting and fun. No, we will more than likely NEVER watch that again.

Good News though. There is possibly a revised version of the movie coming out in 2013. So mark your calenders!

The Seasons

Hi there! Hannah here. As I was walking outside today, I looked up at the bright, clear sky, and started thinking about the different things I like about each season. My thoughts may have been influenced by the movie "The Holiday" in which two opposite seasons are depicted- summer and winter. A very attractive guy (Jude Law) happened to be in the movie, which made it all the better. P.S. I now love Englishmen. if they look like Jude Law. and sound like Jude Law. and wear cute glasses too. and have pearly whites too. and can pull off scarfs too. just watch the movie!
Anyway! I thought I'd share some cool moments that each springtime, summertime, autumn time, and wintertime bring...
Springtime
